PVDF

Overview

PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) is a semi-crystalline fluoropolymer that offers an excellent balance of chemical resistance, mechanical strength and weatherability. It is widely recognized for its purity, making it suitable for ultra-clean or high-purity environments such as pharmaceuticals, food processing and semiconductor manufacturing. PVDF performs well in outdoor applications thanks to its exceptional UV and radiation resistance and maintains stability even when exposed to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures. Its flame-retardant nature and hygienic characteristics also make it ideal for use in cleanroom systems and corrosive fluid transport.

Weaknesses

  • More expensive than standard engineering plastics
